John Cox Testimonial | Alaska, USA All on 4 Full Mouth Fixed Hybrid Denture Definitely worth it and I would recommend it to anybody. John came to us with teeth issues caused by Cancer, and shotty implant work. It took John 2 trips to Cancun to finish his treatment, which required 8 Implants on the upper maxillary, and 6 implants on the lower mandible. John arrived to us with an ill-fitting denture, failed implants, and moderate bone loss. Our specialists took on this challenge and helped change his life. John went through an Osseo integration period of 6 months while his implants healed. During this time he wore a temporary healing denture made of acrylic. On the restorative phase John returned to have the Fixed Hybrid Dentures placed on his upper and lower arches. He spent 10 days with us while our specialists and technicians worked hard to finish his case, which was not easy. The end r...

How to choose a Good Dentist?

How to choose a Good Dentist?

How to choose a Good Dentist? When you’re searching for a dentist, the American Dental Association (ADA) offers these suggestions:   Ask family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers for their recommendations. Ask your family doctor or local pharmacist. If you’re moving, ask your current dentist to make a recommendation. Contact your local or state dental society. The ADA provides a list of local and state dental societies on its web site, www.ada.org. Your local and state dental societies also may be listed in the telephone directory under “dentists” or “associations.” The ADA suggests calling or visiting more than one dentist before selecting one. What Should I Look For When Choosing a Dentist? You and your dentist will be long-term oral health care partners; therefore, you should find someone you can be comfortable with. To find a suitable dentist to m...

See why CANCUN is becoming THE #1 DESTINATION for dental tourists!

See why CANCUN is becoming THE #1 DESTINATION for dental tourists!

See why CANCUN is becoming THE #1 DESTINATION for dental tourists! Fuelled by a lack of insurance coverage for dental treatments combined with the high-cost of procedures, dental tourism is a rapidly growing industry. When comparing the cost of dental in North America with countries such as Costa Rica or Mexico, the difference is astounding—many dental treatments can be received with dental tourism in Mexico for as much as 80% off North American prices. Dental Tourism in Mexico is gaining recognition for affordable and high quality dental treatment As one of the top tourist destinations in the world, Cancun has long been popular with travellers looking for plenty of sun, sand, and relaxation. More recently, Cancun has been gaining recognition as a top-choice for dental tourists. The large influx of travellers from the U.S and Canada has resulted in the “Americanization” of Cancun...

Tooth Removal and Implant

Tooth Removal and Implant Immediate Load after extraction   “Immediate Load” following extractions is something that is certainly possible and something that we practice often he re at my clinic, when it is possible. The front teeth, or centrals, are teeth that have only one root so the area left behind after extraction should leave plenty of bone structure for the placement of the implant. Of course this is not always the case. Some times we do not have enough bone on buccal which would require a bone graft in order for us to gain primary stability and avoid implant threads from showing when the patient smiles.

Dental Implants VS. Bridges

Dental Implants VS. Bridges

Dental Implants VS. Bridges What is the best solution for the particular patient? Depending on a patients budget, goals, lifestyle choices, and time restraints would determine what would be best for that case. I agree that Implants are the ideal solution to missing teeth as we are preventing future bone loss, allows patients to practice normal hygeine, have great success rates, and are supposed to last longer than bridges. On the other hand, for example, if the patient is a smoker who does not plan on quiting, does not have the budget to have an implant placed, or cannot return to my clinic for the restoration of the implant, then a bridge would be a good alternative for that patient.

Recovering after Dental Implants

Recovering after Dental Implants Each patient is different, and each person has different recovery times and pain thresholds. Normally implant recovery time is around 4-6 months. If extractions where preformed before the placement of the implant, or if a sinus lift was done, then recovery time could be a bit longer. As with any surgery you can expect some discomfort afterwards, but nothing that will cause you excruciating pain. You should plan at least 7 days off work when planning to have implant surgery. After the surgery you can expect to be on a soft food diet for a period of time recommened by the surgeon. Anywhere between 10 days to a few months.
