Recovering after Dental Implants

Each patient is different, and each person has different recovery times and pain thresholds. Normally implant recovery time is around 4-6 months. If extractions where preformed before the placement of the implant, or if a sinus lift was done, then recovery time could be a bit longer. As with any surgery you can expect some discomfort afterwards, but nothing that will cause you excruciating pain. You should plan at least 7 days off work when planning to have implant surgery. After the surgery you can expect to be on a soft food diet for a period of time recommened by the surgeon. Anywhere between 10 days to a few months.
